Brooklyn’s own has done it again. Jay-Z has reached another milestone in his career with the debut of his 11th studio album The Blue Print 3. Billboard.com come has reported that Jay has surpassed the legendary Elvis Presley by having the most number 1 albums in the history of Billboard 200.
With the return of the formerly “retired” rapper, Jay-Z, in the first week of sales of The Blue Print 3, has sold more than 476,000 copies, which has garnered Jay the top spot once again on the charts. As stated, Jay has now passed up Elvis for having the most number 1 albums on the charts, but he’s still in second behind Liverpools own The Beatles who hold the record with 19 number one albums.
Later down the positions, at no. 30, Jay-Z held another spot, as his Blueprint Collector’s Edition sold 14,000 copies. As reported last week, the former top spot holder, Whitney Houston, with her latest album I Look To You, fell down to number 3 amassing a sell of 88,000 albums.
