Despite this weeks biggest news of Oprah Winfrey announcing the end of her daytime talk show career, don’t count the queen of the small screen out just yet.
Just eight months after her final episode of “The Oprah Winfrey Show”, Big “O” will launch her very own network (pun intended), OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) in January 2011.
Of course, in traditional fashion of most new shows, music – what have you, there have been numerous dates set, and reset for the debut of OWN. It was originally set to launch before the end of this year; that changed to sometime in 2010, and now, I’m assuming with the preparations to end her nationally syndicated talk show, we’re given the final timeline of 2011.
The OWN is a network will be just like any other television network that will run various shows 24/7. It is also a joint venture between Oprah and the folks over at Discovery Communications and it will be seen in a little over 80 million households worldwide.
