Six middle school students have been disciplined over a Facebook page that threatened teachers at their suburban Buffalo school.
Orchard Park schools Superintendent Joan Thomas says two of the students created the page over winter break and four others posted comments. A parent reported it to school officials Monday.
Thomas says the page included a threat about killing teachers, but didn’t include specifics or a method. The district isn’t pursuing criminal charges, but the students were told individual teachers may file charges if they wish.
Authorities won’t say how the students were disciplined. Thomas says the incident is being used as a “teachable moment” for all of the sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students at the school.
