A Bainbridge woman is charged with reckless conduct after authorities say she left her infant child locked in a hot car while she shopped at a store’s closing sale.
Authorities say 21-year old Shamyra Little, of Bainbridge, was trying to get to a Kmart closing sale Sunday. They say she left her 4-month-old child unrestrained in her black Ford Explorer while she went into the store.
After a shopper heard the baby’s cries and called 911, authorities arrived and used an antenna to unlock the car through a partially open window.
Authorities say the baby was sweating, but was fine. They estimate the baby was in the car for about 15 minutes and temperatures were in the high 70s.
