Kanye West is having another go at the fashion industry after debuting his line last fall. His line received mostly negative reviews from the press, and in Kanye’s eyes the line was also critiqued unfairly. West decided to change things up this time, by banning those same people who tore his line to shreds from his latest show. West initially granted the media access to his show, but ended up changing his mind. West reportedly stated his reason for not allowing the press access to his show by saying, “I don’t know about this. I got treated unfairly by the press last time. Why would I want to do this?” It can be argued that much of the reason why he got torn to shreds was because he is Kanye West. On the other hand, part of the media’s job is to critique, and the fashion world runs on critiques.
West seems to be in a good place as of now, coming off of a US tour to his latest album with rap artist, Jay-Z. The success for the album has been enormous, and many fans are looking forward to a possible follow-up album in the future from the two artists. The duo recently added more shows to their UK tour for the summer. The line is something that West sees as an accomplishment, and if the media does not understand his vision, then why make them a part of it?
