Sleek, Solid, Big Screen: Huawei Mate 10 Pro Review

Huawei Mate 10 Pro is this year’s flagship phone by the company which they hoped to be as good as the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. While the two brands and models can never be the same, Mate 10 Pro gets pretty close to Galaxy Note 8 with its vast screen display, cool camera, and powerful processor.

This latest Huawei phone doesn’t come cheap, but that is understandable especially with the features and functions it comes with. However, it doesn’t have several features that you can find in Note 8 such as the expandable storage, S Pen stylus, and system’s very own virtual assistant. But, all in all, it has a solid and all-around performance, a perfect choice if you are fond of a high-end and big-screen phone.

Huawei Mate 10 Pro is the newest phone for Huawei’s Mate 10 series. The standard Mate 10 has a significantly smaller screen which is only 5.9 inches. While the internal specifications of both phones are much the same, several changes were made. Mate 10 Pro has a fingerprint scanner at the back, while the standard Mate 10 has it in front. The smaller model also lacks waterproof properties which are very much welcomed in the new one.

Excellent Camera

One of the best things about Huawei Mate 10 Pro that a lot of users like is its superior camera. It has the same dual-camera setup that you can find in some older models of Huawei phone. There is no reason to change anything that is already top-notch. It has a 12 MP sensor that shots in color together with a 20 MP sensor for black and white.

Whether you shot in color or mono, photos will come out great. The excellent exposure is exceptionally balanced that makes the colors vibrant. The camera can also perform very well even with low light; you can get clear and bright shots with only the slightest image noise. If you are fond of monochromatic portraits, Huawei Mate 10 Pro will be excellent for you with its deep black levels that make fantastic black and white photos.

Jam-Packed Battery

When it comes to a long-day phone performance, Mate 10 Pro has something fantastic to offer with its 4,000 mAh battery that claims to last for at least 48 hours. That is an excellent two-day use of the phone.

While that claim is quite over the top, the Huawei phone is tested to last about 19 hours in a video rundown test. It beats the performance of Galaxy Note 8, OnePlus 5, and Pixel 2 XL. While the battery length will mostly depend on how you use your phone or how you save the battery, 4,000 mAh still promises a long-time phone use.

Conclusion

While Mate 10 Pro doesn’t feature a headphone jack, it is entirely waterproof. Removing the need to use wired headphones with the device has allowed it to be water resistant. You can always use Bluetooth headphones if you want.

All in all, the features of Huawei Mate 10 Pro come out impressive from the hardware to its sleek appearance and big screen.
