Kel Mitchell, known for his role in the soon-to-be-released “Good Burger 2,” recently updated fans on his health following reports of his hospitalization. On Instagram last Saturday, he expressed gratitude for the concern and love from his followers and aimed to provide some clarity on his situation.
In a video posted on Instagram, the 45-year-old actor shared that he experienced a sudden spell of dizziness while shopping, leading him to believe he was dehydrated. This incident escalated with numbness in his right arm and difficulty swallowing, prompting him to drive himself to the hospital. At the hospital, a CT scan led to a diagnosis related to a pre-existing injury.
Mitchell explained that a bulging disc from an earlier injury was pressing against a nerve, causing the symptoms he experienced. He expressed relief and gratitude for being in good health now, and humorously acknowledged the prayers and comments from fans, including playful references to his “Kenan and Kel” character’s love for orange soda.
In a previous Instagram post on Wednesday, Mitchell spoke about the overwhelming support he received during this alarming experience. He acknowledged the seriousness of the scare but also the strong support and prayers that surrounded him. He credited his recovery to both divine grace and the expertise of medical professionals, and he’s now recuperating at home with his family’s support.
Mitchell is set to return as Ed in “Good Burger 2,” premiering November 22 on Paramount+. The film, a sequel to the ’90s Nickelodeon sketch on “All That,” revolves around two friends struggling to keep their burger joint afloat amidst competition from a new fast-food establishment.
