MacBook Air 2015 was one of the most popular Apple devices. It’s sleek design and premium looks makes it look great. However, it is no longer able to compete with the other laptops available. That’s the reason why Apple came up a new and upgrade version of MacBook known as MacBook Air 2018. Both of the devices look absolutely similar, but the newer version has a better battery and fast processor.
MacBook Air 2018 is still not the best laptop. Many other brands like Dell, HP, and Acer have better performing laptops at the same price. However, still, it is fast enough to handle your everyday tasks with ease. It has a nice and simple Mac OS which performs better than your expectations. The main thing about Apple devices is that they have full control over both the hardware and software and thus they function a lot better than other brands. Design
All Apple laptops look similar. So is the MacBook Air. It looks absolutely similar to the previous versions. Apple has not made any single changes in terms of the design of their laptops since 2010. These days bezel-less laptops are in trend which have a smaller footprint. Laptops like Dell XPS have an infinity edge display which is great for viewing videos or enjoying your favorite movie. It looks light years ahead than the Apple’s. MacBook Air. However, it’s not a problem if you are ok with that. The aluminum body of the MacBook Air still looks elegant and premium. It is also very durable and resistant to scratch.
Talking about the display size, it features a 13.3 inches display with great color reproduction and brightness. The keyboard is again very durable and easy to use. You can type up to 80 words per minute with ease while in your lap.
Performance
Apple has upgraded many things in its new laptop. First of all, it has increased battery capacity which gives a long standby time. It is powered by 1.6 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor. No doubt i5 is an outdated version of Intel processor but is not all slow. You will not experience any single lag using it. The processor of this device is supported by 8 GB DDR3 RAM.
You will get 256 GB of PCle based storage which is extremely fast and handles multitasking with ease. It has got two USB 3.0 port with up to 5 Gbps transfer rate. Then there is an even faster Thunderbolt 2 port with up to 20 Gbps data transfer speed. The facetime or the front-facing camera is a high definition which takes decent pictures. You can also record 720p videos using it. The laptop weighs 1.35 kg and measures 32.5 x 22.7 x 1.7 cm.
All these features make the MacBook Air a good device.
Final verdict
The only downside of the laptop is its display and weight. The laptop performs good enough but is not the best in terms of performance as it comes with an outdated processor. But you still buy it if you are looking for a premium device for your day to day tasks.
