Razer Phone 2 Review

Razer Phone 2 was introduced as a gaming phone. And so, it has a great screen, simple-to-use software, spectacular sound, and good enough battery. If your question is then why isn’t this phone on the list of the best phones; the answer is an unimpressive camera. After all, you need a phone for daily use like snapping pictures too, rather than just playing games. So, should you invest in this phone, let’s find that out.

Built & Design

The Razer Phone 2 comes with the glass back (same like all other flagship phones you have seen this year). And with glass back comes the wireless charging option too. But the glass back does make it susceptible to damage, and so you need to get a case for it and cover the beautiful looking gorilla glass exterior (unlike the original Razer phone that you could drop without even worrying of a single dent).

The logo of Razer on the back looks very elegant on the back, especially on the darker black phone. The logo now comes with an RGB light, and so you can make the logo glow in whichever color you desire. It also lets you select few effects like the breathing mode for an effect of pulsating. The logo also changes the color as per the notification light.

The power button of this phone, which also works as a fingerprint sensor is on the right side of the phone (which is hidden in the frame), and the volume buttons are on the left edge of Razer Phone 2. Along with it, the flat edges make sure that you do not slip phone while playing games.

Better Display & Great Sound

Razer Phone 2

It comes with a good 5.7-inch screen with LCD IGZO display of 2,560 x 1,440 resolution that supports HDR10. It also has a refresh rate of 120 Hz which makes playing games far smoother and great experience while using apps without any lag.

The stereo speakers of this phone have certification from Dolby Atmos, and so you know this phone is in the long run to entertain. It gives great sound quality and bass response. One can also easily say that it has the best speakers in the phone industry. And with all this, it is also a water-resistance phone that means your speakers are safe from water.

Powerful Performance

This phone uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor and 8 GB RAM. With 120 Hz refresh rate backed with such strong processor and RAM, it doesn’t give any problem in performance. You shall never find the phone slowing down even after an hour of play.

Camera

This phone has seen an upgrade in camera over the original Razer phone, but still, the performance of the camera is very mediocre. It has two 12 MP cameras on the rear side and one on the front. The quality of the cameras has improved, but it is no match for the other phones with the same price tag.

With all these features, it also gives great battery back-up, and so you can call it without any doubt a gaming phone. It can also become a great smartphone but only if the camera improves.
