LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Hollywood stars Chris Pratt and Melissa McCarthy lead the guest host lineup for the next four episodes of Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
Along with Pratt and McCarthy, Black-ish star Tracee Ellis Ross and Emmy Award winner Neil Patrick Harris are also scheduled to fill in for host Jimmy Kimmel over the show’s next four episodes, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Pratt, currently one of Hollywood’s most bankable superstars, is scheduled to host Jimmy Kimmel Live!’s Monday episode. The Guardians of the Galaxy actor will have Australian actress Margot Robbie and American singer-songwriter Chris Stapleton as guests.
Ross is set for the Tuesday episode, which will feature Grammy Award winner Mary J. Blige and English actress and photographer Amanda de Cadenet.
Wednesday’s episode will be hosted by Harris, who will welcome The Crown star Vanessa Kirby and popular snake wrangler Jules Sylvester.
Finally, McCarthy, also an Emmy Award winner, will host Thursday night’s installment. The multi-awarded actress will welcome Academy Award and Golden Globe Award winner Octavia Spencer and American actor Dave Franco.
Kimmel is presently on leave to be with his wife, Molly, and kids. His seven-month-old son, Billy, reportedly went through a successful heart operation on Monday. It was the second procedure for the infant, who was born with an unusual congenital heart condition called tetralogy of Fallot or TOF.
Billy went under the knife for the first time when he was only three days old. Doctors made the diagnosis three hours from his birth after noticing the baby’s purplish appearance.
This is not the first time Jimmy Kimmel Live! will feature guest hosts as Kimmel had also “reached out” to other celebrity friends in late October to prepare for his son’s heart operation.
Academy Award for Best Actress winner Jennifer Lawrence, Kingsman star Channing Tatum, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl had substituted as hosts at that time.
O’Neal opened the Monday show with a funny monologue burning some of his NBA colleagues, such as Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley.
Grohl hosted the Tuesday night episode and appeared in the show dressed up as David Letterman in a Halloween attire. He then played the drums in a rock song medley with Frozen voice actress Kristen Bell on vocals.
Tatum had Wednesday’s episode and got to talk with veteran host Ellen DeGeneres. The Magic Mike star also performed a dance number in the show’s backstage area.
Meanwhile, Lawrence hosted the Thursday night episode and interviewed Kim Kardashian, who is said to be one of her most-admired Hollywood celebrities. Lawrence is a well-known fan of the reality television show Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
Lawrence also had a segment where she went out to Hollywood Boulevard and asked random people if they could name five films she had starred on. The Mother! actress found herself embarrassed as most of the people she interviewed could not cite any of her movies.
The same fire and enthusiasm from the first four Jimmy Kimmel Live! guest hosts is anticipated when Pratt, Ross, Harris, and McCarthy get to take their turns.
