ORLANDO, Flor. – When young Caylee, a 2-year-old who went missing last 2008, was later found dead, it gave rise to the Casey Anthony case. Caylee’s mother, Casey Anthony, was charged with her murder. In 2011, Casey Anthony was found to be innocent and that she can no longer be tried for Caylee’s murder due to double jeopardy. Everybody thought that was the end of the murder case.
On January 15, 2018, Damian Holbrook and Debra Birnbaum confirmed that Marcia Clark, the lead prosecutor in the O. J. Simpson case, has found new evidence concerning the Casey Anthony case. Marcia Clark announced that the new evidence includes an Internet search for the keywords “foolproof suffocation” on the Anthony family computer.
During the case trial, Marcia Clark accused Casey Anthony of using chloroform. The evidence presented at court was her Google search on how to use the substance. The prosecutors state that the keyword “chloroform” was searched 84 times. Eventually, a software designer confirmed that the number was a mistake. They found out later that Casey Anthony only searched the word “chloroform” once.
During the recent Television Critics Association press tour, Marcia Clark told reporters that she was re-examining the evidence which was laid out in a book by Casey Anthony’s lawyer, Jose Baez. She found a considerable error. It shows that a search for “foolproof suffocation” was made in the family computer at 1:51 P.M. which was not long before Caylee was murdered. He theorized that it was a search made by the father due to his suicidal tendencies.
They decided to re-investigate the case, and they discovered that the time stamp program used by the defense attorney was incorrect. It wasn’t 1:51 P.M. but 2:51 P.M., at which point, based on George Anthony’s cell phone messages, he was at work.
The media spotlight finds itself shedding light on the Casey Anthony case again. In an article published by The Associated Press, an interview with Casey Anthony confirmed her thoughts on the new-found evidence by Marcia Clark. To this day, Casey Anthony insisted that she did not know what happened to her daughter.
She knows and respects that everyone has their theories on the Casey Anthony case. She was certain that the last time she saw her daughter she believed that she was alive and that she was going to be okay. Casey Anthony is currently living in South Florida with a private investigator named Patrick McKenna.
A&E’s newest project includes Marcia Clark’s attempt to investigate the infamous crimes and unsolved cases. The show was entitled “Marcia Clark Investigates the First 48.” The show’s first episode focuses on the murder case of Casey Anthony. This will air on March 29, 2018.
Marcia Clark also found herself back on the media spotlight because of the newly found evidence for the murder case as well as FX’s “The People vs. O. J. Simpson,” in which her character was played by Sarah Paulson. However, Marcia Clark confirmed that her show about the Casey Anthony case was not influenced by the FX show.
