New York City, NY – DJI, the China-based technology company popularly known for their drones, has released their newest variety of DJI Goggles, the DJI Goggles racing edition (RE). The DJI Goggles RE is aesthetically similar to a virtual reality (VR) headset that enables a user to control a drone just by doing head movements.
The DJI Goggles RE is ideally made for drone racers. While wearing the goggles, the user can fully be in control of his or her drone by moving his or her head. The user can also see the view from the drone’s perspective as long as the said goggles’ head-tracking gimbal mode is activated.
The original DJI Goggles were on presale last April 2017.While the original goggles came in white units, the newest DJI Goggles RE features its headband and visor in metallic matte black with a red leather-covered padding of high quality for maximum comfort.
The Goggles RE is compatible even with non-DJI-labeled drones. It can also work well with third-party flight controllers such as Naze and F3, letting the user be more flexible and versatile with different brands and drone units.
In addition, what makes the DJI Goggles RE more special is that it supports spherical panoramic viewing as well as video streaming through the OcuSync video transmission module. The said transmission module consists of 12 transmission channels made to cut down obstruction while in a race with multiple drones involved.
The Goggles RE version of the China-based technology company commits itself to flying fast and breaking free. The goggles promise an FPV racing-style experience to each of its users without the presence of the usual interference.
The Goggles RE also features a high-performance camera that can work capably in transmitting a high-resolution digital video having control range of up to 7 kilometers with latency of as low as 50 ms.
With the Goggles RE, the user can be in full control of his or her drone during the race. Its real-time perspective gives an incredible feeling of rush and unparalleled drone racing adventure. Several flight adjustment options are available to custom-fit the user experience and give an ultimate control for immense drone flight.
Goggles RE is equipped with three antennas tailored fit for different occasions and occurrences. These are (1) pagoda, a circularly polarized antenna which performs most excellent at 5.8 GHz; (2) cylindrical, another circularly polarized antenna that functions at 2.4 and 5.8 GHz dual frequency; and (3) dipole, also a dual-frequency linearly polarized antenna that performs best at 2.4 and 5.8 GHz.
It is lightweight that enables clear video footage even at close intervals.
Much more to this, the Goggles RE unit features a decent resolution of 1280 × 960. It also has a connecting pair that also lets a user have his or her companion watch and control the drone.
The newest DJI Goggles RE will be available for shipping by the end of November 2017. A bundled version of the goggles which comes with the OcuSync air system and DJI Goggles backpack will also be available.
