LOS ANGELES – Despite JA Morant’s 40-point contribution to the Memphis Grizzlies, Carmelo Anthony managed to score 28 points to bring the Lakers to victory.
The Los Angeles Lakers brought their home fans the victory, with a 121-118 score against the Grizzlies. Anthony scored 28 points; David scored 22 points; Lebron James scored 19 points against the Grizzlies.
The game began with intense drama as Kent Bazemore fouled Ja Morant with 2.5 seconds left in the quarter’s final minutes. Unfortunately, Morant missed the final free throw to allow the Lakers to escape with the win.
Ja Morant scored ten assists while making a career-high five 3-pointers, including four three-pointers by halftime.
This game allowed the Lakers to break their two-game losing streak, while the Grizzlies lost their first game this season
Anthony totaled 27,423 career points, ranking ninth in the NBA’s all-time scoring list. Anthony’s performance allowed him to take the game ball after the Lakers defeated the Grizzlies.
Anthony told the reporters after asking him to comment on his performance of his game: “it’s an honor and blessing to be on that list and pass Moses for what he did for the game of basketball.” Anthony told the reporters how honored he was to still be in the game, passionate about training and playing these games.
On the other hand, Ja Morant expressed his dismay despite scoring 40 points against the Lakers. Morant told the reporters that the only thing in his mind is that “I missed a free throw to tie it.”
