The Tesla Model 3 makes its grand debut March 31. But ahead of the reveal, Tesla is teasing the car on its Twitter page.
The new model, which is only shown in silhouette form, sits to the right of the Tesla Model S and Model X in the image. The post has received more than 5,100 likes and has been retweeted more than 3,500 times since it went up Tuesday afternoon.
At the official reveal, it’s unclear whether we’ll learn all the technical details about the new Model 3. On a conference call last month, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said the company was still deciding whether or not to “show all the cards” during the reveal or save some information for later.
Deliveries of the Model 3 are expected to start in late 2017. The small sedan willcompete against the BMW 3 Series and offer a price tag of around $35,000, which would make it by far the most affordable Tesla. It should also be about 20 percent lighter than the Model S.
On March 31, the public will be able to tune in to the unveiling of the Model 3 on the automaker’s website, Tesla.com. Until then, we can only speculate as to what the Tesla Model 3 will look like.
