One of the most famous Victoria’s Secret Angels is hitting the runway for the last time, Adriana Lima, 37, is quitting after 18 spectacular shows. She announced that the Thursday show will in fact be her last one, just hours before the show began.
Part of her announcement was an expression of gratitude towards the company and her fans, for enabling her to not only have wings but to fly and that she is grateful for the opportunity to see the world that being a Victoria’s Secret Angel has given her.
The lingerie company has had the pleasure of working with the Brazilian show-stopper for two decades. Adriana Lima said that she believes this final show will be the highlight of her 20-year career and that despite this being her 18th time to walk the prestigious Victoria Secret Fashion Show runway, and she said that feels just as excited as she did during her first show.
Adriana Lima may be exiting the runway for the last time but this year’s New York City show will bear witness to the return of Behati Prinsloo. Prinsloo is Adam Levine’s wife, and has been out of the spotlight for three long years to start a family.
This is her first show since giving birth to her second daughter, Gio Grace. Prinsloo and Levine also have another daughter, now two years old named Dusty Rose.
She revealed that she has been preparing for this day by working out to get her old body back. She is even more empowered to walk on the runway again, which she describes as a distant dream, now that she has two daughters.
Other supermodels confirmed to be on the show include Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, Kendall Jenner and her best friend, Gigi Hadid among others.
