Sunny Sandler, daughter of Adam Sandler, has emerged as a movie star, but initially, she found it unsettling to see her father engage in on-screen kisses with actresses. Adam Sandler, discussing his latest Netflix animation “Leo,” where his daughters, Sadie and Sunny, lend their voices, shared this sentiment on The Jennifer Hudson Show. He recalled co-starring with Hudson in the 2017 Netflix film “Sandy Wexler,” where Hudson’s then 6-year-old son, David, was puzzled by seeing his mother kiss a co-star.
Adam mentioned that his daughters, especially Sunny, now 15, reacted more strongly than Sadie, now 17, to his on-screen romantic scenes. Both Sunny and Sadie have acted alongside their parents, Adam and Jackie Sandler, in the Netflix film “You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah,” which received positive reviews earlier this year.
Adam revealed that his daughters, particularly Sunny, were uncomfortable with his on-screen kisses, often seeking reassurance from their mother. He stated that while Sadie was generally unperturbed, Sunny frequently expressed her disapproval to her mother. Adam also humorously commented on his restrained approach to movie kisses, claiming he doesn’t get too expressive, a sentiment Hudson agreed with, recalling their work together as being very professional.
Adam Sandler has been known for his roles opposite several well-known actresses, including Drew Barrymore in “The Wedding Singer,” Winona Ryder in “Mr. Deeds,” Marisa Tomei in “Anger Management,” Kate Beckinsale in “Click,” Salma Hayek in “Grown Ups,” and Jennifer Aniston in “Murder Mystery,” among others.
