Dating apps, we all know someone that has used or uses one frequently. May it be for casual encounters to as low as using someone to get a free meal on a date. For gay and straight preferences there are all types of apps for dating including Grindr.
Not ever did we think that a dating app could cause so much havoc for one person. Meet New York City living actor Mathew Herrick. He is up against a huge discrepancy with dating app Grindr.
Grindr is made for gay and bisexual men & over 1,100 had appeared in Herrick’s life over a period of 5 months. Showing up at his job and even his home. 16 men a day as he stated in his complaint filed last week all, “aggressively demanding sex” from him.
His ex-boyfriend is part of the blame for he had set up numerous fake accounts.
My entire life has been stolen from me. My privacy has been taken from me. I’m humiliated daily,” Herrick said in an interview with Wired magazine. “It’s a living hell.”
His ex even goes to mention lies such as Matt having HIV.
With over 100 complaints were filed notifying Grindr of all these fake profiles with only getting a reply stating, “Thank you for your report.”
“They were setting him up to be sexually assaulted,” Goldberg his attorney told Wired. “It’s just luck that it hasn’t happened yet.”
